‘I’ve got blisters on my…’

…toe.

Here’s a funny thing: I had no idea. When I talk about my relationship to the pain scale being skewed, there’s proof.

I don’t think anybody would say blisters are THAT awful (in comparison to childbirth, surgeries, broken jaws, etc.).

I’m saying it didn’t register. I was having a wee, kicking my feet back and forth (I’m under-tall) and saw that bump.

I’ll drain and medicate it tonight (if I remember). Goofball!

  1. Ouch! I went out for a short time with a guy who’d almost lost his leg in a car accident – it was reattached just below the knee but he had extensive nerve damage and basically no feeling in that foot. He had to inspect his foot every night for injuries because he’d once cut it somehow and didn’t notice the injury until he got a massive infection.

    • Yup! Diabetics have to do that when things go very badly. It’s not that I didn’t feel it. It’s that my feet hurt all the time and I ignore it. A blister is gosh…just nothing in comparison to the other pains I feel right now. ::shrugs::

Tell her about it!
