I thought he had it all sorted — now? I see he was just a PUPPY! Oh, my Bowie!
I didn’t have celebrity crushes or influences/ icons like most kids. I had one.
I referred to David Bowie as ‘God.’
‘Guess what! I’m going to see GOD tonight!’
‘Let’s listen to God.’
‘I’m not having that crap. I wanna hear God.’
I met him once. Sort of. He was extremely nice to this shaking, screeching, God-struck fan. When I think about it, I about piss myself laughing. I can’t believe it was me, how geeked out. And I’m 100% clear about being a nerdy, goofy, geeky dork, not in that nouveau, cool-fad, faux-geek style.
(yes, I said, ‘nerdy, goofy, geeky dork’ and ‘nouveau cool-fad faux-geek style’ in the same sentence)
I would normally give him space, showing due deference or approach and say something that I think is hilarious that is neither amusing nor rational. The great thing about God is he has seen and heard it all. You’re not going to freak him out. He loves all of us freaks.
And we love Him.
Where was I? God has a new album coming out.

I was thrilled to hear the news yesterday and am looking forward to “The Next Day” . I saw the Serious Moonlight and Glass Spider tours in Sydney – awesome.
I’ve seen him about 4 times and it’s always been lovely, whether the album was a favorite or not–I like them ALL. Serious Moonlight must’ve been AMAZING. I had that VHS tape and played it out, then got a dubbed one from a friend and played it out
