That’s the Grandmother who raised me, me and Herself
Mum’s having a birthday today. She has had 3 heart attacks, one in-hospital stay that lasted 6 weeks (that was a couple years ago) and then quadruple by-pass surgery this autumn.*
What a pain in the arse! Hers and mine!
She’ll probably out-live us all.
* I’d planned on celebrating my birthday for months, on St. Louis’ Rock & Roll Marathon Day, as Angela was in town running it. Due to mum having surgery first thing the next morning and the party-atmosphere (I was going to skip it but my brother insisted we carry on with our plans), I got Rather Drunk and missed Angela.
My brother had to leave to pick up his kids and he couldn’t leave me alone Downtown in That State. Shame. The hangover helped me through the next day, believe it or not.

Thank you! I love that photo. Gram hated it cos it was a rough time for her. Back surgery caused her to put on a lot of weight. Poor thing had about 15 really rough years but she got active again!
